Hampton Falls Free Library will be offering Introduction to Contract Bridge, an inaugural series of eight classes during February and March to be taught by one of our local players, Lawrence Cheetham.
The course requires no previous experience playing Contract Bridge and targets the person who wants to learn about this most interesting card game, played by over 30 million people in the USA today.
You will:
· receive instruction on how to play the game
· sit at card tables during the presentation to bid and play specific hands
· be able to ask questions in an ask-and-learn environment
· receive your own course text book, “Bridge for Dummies” by Eddie Kantar
Classes will be on Tuesday/Wednesday evenings each week:

Topics covered: How the Game Is Played, Playing on the internet, Playing the Hand as Declarer, Playing the Hand as Defender, Scoring, Bidding the Hand, and Duplicate Bridge.
Mr. Cheetham resides in North Hampton and is active with the NH Bridge Association and both the North Hampton and Newington bridge clubs. Mr. Cheetham is a former NH State Champion (2004) and has written numerous articles for publication on the subject of hand play and bidding at contract bridge.
